About Tru-Pneuma
Breath of Life Yoga
The inspiration for Tru-Pneuma began in the summer of 2015 in Carlsbad, California—it was my “AHA moment.” I had been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and from the very first class, I was hooked. My initial experience was enhanced by a wonderful instructor who guided me through my early practice. Over the years, I practiced both at home and in various studios, always enjoying it, but nothing ever compared to being in a class with a passionate, knowledgeable teacher.
I’ve always been a nature lover, finding peace and relaxation in the woods or by the ocean. The connection between yoga and nature became clear to me one morning when I opened the blinds on my balcony in Carlsbad and saw a yoga class practicing on the beach. That moment solidified my decision to become the instructor I had been searching for since the beginning of my practice, and to incorporate the beauty of nature into my yoga journey.
In addition to my love for yoga and nature, my Christian faith has always been a central part of my life. I believe that God has given us the gift of breath and that yoga can be a beautiful way to connect with the divine. As I practiced, I began to feel a deep sense of God’s presence in each breath, movement, and moment of stillness. This spiritual connection inspired me to teach yoga in a way that nurtures not just the body, but also the soul, honoring the sacredness of life and breath as a gift from God.
After returning to Michigan, I was fortunate to find Namaste Yoga, a studio that allowed me to train and become a certified yoga instructor. I am now proud to hold my Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) certification with Yoga Alliance, the largest nonprofit association for yoga teachers, schools, and studios. In addition to my RYT200, I have earned certifications in Restorative Yoga through Yoga International (2017) and in Kids’ Yoga through NGY (New Generation Yoga). Through this journey, I have been blessed to deepen my understanding of both yoga and my faith, allowing me to teach with a holistic approach that embraces mind, body, and spirit.

Instructor Bio

Dawn Wyatt
Owner / Instructor
I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years, and from the very first class, I was drawn to its transformative power. Over the years, I’ve come to embrace the core principles of yoga—breath, balance, flexibility, strength, and acceptance—while blending these with my Christian faith. Through this practice, I’ve experienced profound physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. In 2015, feeling a deep calling to share the benefits of yoga with others, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). Since then, I’ve been privileged to guide others in discovering the healing and empowering potential of yoga, rooted in both spiritual and physical well-being.
